With over two decades of experience in independent schools, Tony brings a global perspective and deep expertise to university and boarding school planning for students from diverse backgrounds. His extensive career spans roles as a teacher, coach, dorm parent, department chair, and director of university counseling at leading boarding and day schools in the United States, including Blair Academy, The Taft School, The Perkiomen School, Montclair Kimberley Academy, and The Winchendon School’s Massachusetts and New York campuses.
Tony’s international outlook is shaped by his studies and travels in Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, and Guatemala, as well as his work with students from around the world, including Brazil, Spain, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Singapore. He has successfully guided students to top universities globally, such as St. Andrew’s, IE University, Trinity College Dublin, Glasgow, ESADE, Imperial College London, McGill, University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, Harvard, Yale, NYU, and the University of Warwick, among many other world-class universities.
Known for his upbeat, student-centered approach, Tony excels at supporting students through the complexities of the admission process, whether they are pursuing traditional pathways, athletic recruitment, or international opportunities in the UK, EU, U.S. or Canada. His enthusiasm for education, cultural exchange, and helping students find their ideal environment is matched by his commitment to building strong relationships with families and admissions professionals worldwide.
A graduate of Davidson College with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a master’s from Middlebury College, Tony continues to travel widely and values the international dimension of his work. He and his wife Laurie, who is Head of School, live on the campus of Stoneleigh Boarding School in western Massachusetts with their two enormous dogs, Titan and JoJo and their less enormous cats Bran and Brie. Tony and Laurie are parents to two young adults who share their parents’ passion for Spain, South America, and other cultures. When Tony isn’t being walked by his dogs, working or traveling, he is likely cycling or running — he hasn’t met an endurance sport he doesn’t like — or playing music. He’s also an avid sports fan and concert-goer.
