Amy brings over 15 years of college counseling experience in independent schools to her work with McMillan Education, with a strong international focus shaped by her years living and working in England. As a college counselor and English teacher at TASIS, The American School in England, Amy spent eight years immersed in the UK’s international boarding school environment, supporting students from across the globe-including England, Switzerland, France, Italy, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Argentina, and Singapore. She has toured leading universities throughout the UK, such as Bath, Exeter, Bristol, Glasgow, St Andrews, Edinburgh, UCL, King’s, LSE, and Royal Holloway, and draws on these connections to help students and families navigate international university admissions.
In addition to her international expertise, Amy directed college counseling offices at Dexter Southfield School and Chapel Hill Chauncey Hall School in the Greater Boston area of the U.S., and has held teaching and leadership roles at Culver Academies in Indiana and Stratford Academy in Georgia. Her broad experience in both day and boarding schools, as a teacher, administrator, and counselor, informs her holistic approach to educational planning, helping students of all backgrounds succeed in the university and boarding school admission process.
Amy is known for her warmth and active listening, guiding students and families through every step of the university, graduate, and transfer admissions process, and supporting young adults as they explore graduate school options, including business, law, and medical school. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Washington and Lee University and a master’s degree in English from Middlebury College, and enjoys helping students craft compelling essays that reflect their unique stories.
Amy and her educator husband live in Massachusetts, U.S., with their three children. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, crafts, yoga, and time on Massachusett’s Cape Cod beaches.
